Michigan’s Republican‑led House voted to block implicit bias training requirements for health professionals when they apply for or renew their licenses.

The Michigan Legislative Black Caucus is condemning a recent vote by House Republicans to strip more than $644 million in already approved work project funding from programs that support Black, Brown and other marginalized communities.
The caucus says the cuts — affecting everything from prenatal care and mobile clinics to mental health outreach and legal services — were made without meaningful input from the lawmakers representing the communities most impacted and will deny families critical services they were promised.
